Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving!
If I’m being honest, I haven’t been all too thankful lately. I’ve been sick, tired, and generally just burned out. I took on a lot, didn’t get enough rest, and just got into a bad space.
Even though it was No Yell November, I wasn’t too nice. Then, the guilt came. It wasn’t pretty.
But, I’m slowly digging myself out. It really helped me to write this post and put things in perspective. Also, to help, I wanted to write a list of what I’m thankful for. And what better day than Thanksgiving?!
So, here we go…
My Boys
Mr. B
I’m thankful that:
- He still wants to cuddle with me, even at 7-years-old
- Is not embarrassed to give me a hug and kiss at the bus stop
- Can entertain himself for hours with his own creative play…that kid can come up with some wild stuff
- He is well-behaved and respectful at school
Big C
- He’s Big! From 2 lbs 2 oz to almost 40 lbs!!!!
- He’s healthy!
- Silly, smiley, and a big flirt
- He is getting good at sharing
- Loves when I read and sing to him
Little P
- Even though he’s “little,” he’s actually not so little anymore! From 1 lb 7.5 oz to 37 lbs!!!!
- He’s healthy!
- Sweet, a little shy, but still bit of a daredevil
- He is getting so much better at communicating (instead of screaming) with words
- Loves when I read and sing to him
The Husband
- My partner in crime and wine
- He gives me much-needed breaks from adulting when I need them
- Loves the boys and is a fantastic father
- Forgives my moods and indulges my crazy ideas
- Works hard to make sure our family has everything we need and more
My Family
My Mom
- Talks to me on the phone at least 4 times a day
- Loves me and my boys unconditionally
- Is a wonderful Grandma
- Understands my need for retail therapy
- Is my best friend
My Dad
- Takes the boys to story hour, the zoo, and on errands all the time
- Loves me and my boys unconditionally
- Is the boys’ best playmate
- Is a wonderful Grandpa
- Helps out with anything I ask
My In-laws
- No matter what the boys do, think they are angels
- Love to spend time with them and show them off
- Help in any way we need
- Are wonderful Grandparents
- Raised a great son
The Little/Silly Stuff
Obviously, the stuff above is the important stuff, but sometimes the little stuff gets us through the day. So, here are the little things I’m thankful for right now.
- Sweet little ballerinas that call me Miss Shann, and do the best Ballet walks ever
- My boot camp instructor, that I look forward to seeing all week because I know she will kick my booty into gear
- The Gilmore Girls Reunion Show
- Wine, chocolate, and hot showers
- Wonderful Neighbors
- My Twin Moms
- The Book Club Gals
- My Mom Blog Tribe
- Black Friday Shopping
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope your day is filled with family, food, and whatever you are thankful for.
I am also very, very thankful for YOU. All my readers and followers that support me and this blog every day. I’m humbled and so happy that you like what I write and come back for more.

There really is SO MUCH to be thankful for, when you really think about it, isn’t there? I, too, am extremely thankful for my in-laws as well! Thanks for sharing, and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours <3

Wonderful post! It’s so hard to be thankful sometimes. I enjoy reading/hearing what others are thankful for because it makes me think and in turn, realize what means the most to me.
