First Fridays
And just like that, summer vacation has started! With all three boys home, things are probably going to be a little crazy around here. I’m not sure what that means for the blog, but I do know that I’m going to try to post every Friday. I’m going to call it “First Fridays” and highlight “firsts” that we have done this summer. All good stuff to keep us motivated and busy, including plenty of stuff from our Summer Bucket List.
And don’t worry, Mondays are still reserved for all our miracle babies! Other than that, though, I’m going to figure it out as we go. I don’t want to spend as much time on the computer or my phone, so there may be fewer posts. But, I know you’ll be enjoying the summer too, so I think we’ll be good.
School’s Out
Now, back to First Fridays! On this first Friday of summer, I have a first grade graduate and two preschool graduates. I still can’t believe it. How did my babies grow up so fast? I always love looking at those comparison pics, so I made a few of Mr. B.
Please take note of his signs. I think you’ll notice a recurrent theme.
Next we have Kindergarten.
Finally, First Grade:
Mr. B has grown into such an amazing boy. He’s smart, super creative, artistic, and sensitive. He’s always thinking, and has a magnificent imagination. He takes his time with everything, trying to get it just right. He’s still my biggest snuggler and cuddler, and would let me carry him…if my back could handle it.
This Week
This week we had a couple new things happen.
Mr. B played his very first baseball games. He got three hits!!! And caught a ball!!! This was a pretty big deal, since the last time he played t-ball (2 summers ago) he didn’t do much except kick dirt around with his shoes. It was pretty exciting to see him do so well, and I was just so proud of him. He even got on base twice! I wish I had some pictures. Next time!
I started my adult dance class this week, and it felt great. There are quite a few young girls (back from college) in the class, so it keeps me motivated.
Finally, we went to an outdoor movie last night. It was put on by the school, and it was a lot of fun. The boys got to play at the playground for a while, there were plenty of treats, and not too many bugs out. We watched the movie Sing, which is pretty cute. They all were really good throughout the movie, even though it was way past their bedtime.
I thought we would get lucky, and everyone would sleep in on our first official day of summer vacation. Not so much. Guess we’ll have to take our first summer nap this afternoon!
I hope your summer is off to a fantastic start! Do you have any fun things planned that we can add to our list this summer?

Your boy’s turnaround on the baseball diamond reminds me of my Colorado Rockies – last season, they too kicked around dirt with their shoes, and now are hitting the ball and catching the ball! Pinch me. Outdoor movies are the best, unless it’s in a place like Columbia, S.C., in August.

Awww looks like your summer is off to a great start! Love that you went to an outdoor movie (and got to see sing, I heard that was really cute!). Hope you all have a wonderful summer and that you can cross some things off your bucket list 🙂 I’m hoping to get off the computer more, too, this summer <3

Sounds like a busy summer, full of love and memory making! I signed my girls up for 4 summer reading programs. A bit excessive, but we love the summer library events. What type of dance are you doing? That sounds like fun!

Good for you hun, enjoy your summer with the kids as much as you can. They are fleeting moments, aren’t they?
It’s wild to see how much your kids have grown. You just blown away by this all the time. If only we could slow down time a bit, eh?
I’ve always wanted to watch a movie outside. We were going to last year but I think it rained or it was a kids movie and we were not having it. Sounds like a great time.
I hope the boys are sleeping in a bit, even if only a tiny bit extra than their normal school days??? One can hope.
Have a great week hun! 🙂
