Another Week Down and TGIF

July 25, 2015 By Shann 39 Comments

I just got my son’s bus schedule for Kindergarten!  Aaaaah!!!!!!!!!  Where did the summer go?  Back to school stuff is in full effect in every store, and I have to admit I am getting a little excited to start shopping.

This week was pretty busy. Let me give you a brief rundown.

We completed our first week of Swim Lessons and my oldest had his final T-Ball Game.  He was VERY excited about his trophy.

T-Ball Champ

I’ve been keeping up with my healthy eating plan, took a Modern Dance Class, and met with my Book Club.  This was the first time I didn’t actually finish the book, but a few others didn’t either, so I didn’t feel too bad.  Plus, it was just nice to be out with the ladies. We met at a beer garden, and they had some live music too. I guess it was more a night out than a book club meeting, but don’t tell my husband.

Friday night, my husband grilled out, then had a fire in the fire pit. We wanted everyone to be able to enjoy it, but we got started late, and the twins needed to get to bed. Everyone did get to enjoy the yummy (and healthy) dinner.  Dad and oldest had S’mores by the fire too.  I was good, and didn’t indulge since I may have had a glass of wine the night before.

TGIF!!!!

It was also my Dad’s birthday, so I got the boys to sing Happy Birthday, my oldest made a card, and my Dad brought them cupcakes when he came to join us for swimming.  If I could figure out how to do it, I’d put the video on here.  I’m not quite that technically savvy yet.

Overall, it was a pretty good week. I’m not sure what the weekend has in store, but I’ll share it with you tomorrow.

Hope you’re enjoying the last bits of Summer. What are your fun plans?

I love having bonfires, too, but we run into the same problem with young kids/bedtimes. It’s getting better as they get older, but we’re not ‘there’ yet. Are you going to cry on the first day of kindergarten? My daughter barely batted an eye…I cried in the car like a baby after dropping her off.

I’m pretty sure I will. I was getting a little teary at orientation. I’m sure my son won’t even give me a backwards glance.

I remember when I was younger and how exciting it was to go school shopping. To be young again. I’ve also been trying to get healthier again. However, when you mention S’mores, we got a bag of S’mores Oreos…they are hard to resist.

Haha it is summer all the time here. So the biggest plan is to get a fire pit and finally get all the moving things sorted out. I can’t believe how fast summer goes though! This summer has gone really fast! But maybe it’s because we have such a limited time here in Hawaii. I think 2 more years are going to fly by! Then I’ll have a kindergartener!

It sounds like you had a busy week. =D I myself CANNOT wait for my 2 older to go back to school. I got fed up with their arguing and informed them if it didn’t stop that I would be doing what my aunt did to HER 2 oldest:

“Keep it up and I’m going to sit you on chairs and your going to sit and stare at each other until you apologize.”

I’m happy to say, they realized I was DONE and they didn’t argue the rest of the day. =D Ahhhhh!

That does sound like a great week! Are the boys excited to be going back to school? My favorite part of school use to be the school shopping. I think that’s wher I get my love for all things office supplies. Ugh, yeah – that sounds weird when it’s said out loud, hah. Happy Saturday you guys!
