Endings and Beginnings
Our family had quite a few endings this week. However, as you know, with endings, there are always new beginnings. So, lets take a look at all our endings and all our new beginnings…and they all make me pretty happy this Friday.
Endings
- Kindergarten for Mr. B
- The Whole30 for me! T-minus 12 hours give or take…but who’s counting!
- Scrambling for the bus at 8 am
- Naptime for me with the twins, since Mr. B does NOT nap anymore
- Long, shaggy hair
- I’m really hoping diapers for the twins. We may have to do a three day boot-camp.
Beginnings
- Summer Vacation!
- Healthier eating for me and the family, but without restrictions
- New summer hair…all three boys got cuts, and the twins got some fun temporary red faux hawks
- No reason to get up so early in the morning. Did you hear that twins?!
- Park time, Zoo trips, and Bike riding
- Teaching my own dance classes (Hooray!)
- Summer road trips
On Wednesday, Mr. B had his “end of Kindergarten” celebration. After taking the twins to get a haircut, we went and watched as they sang their songs, told their favorite thing they would never forget about kindergarten (Mr. B’s was the zoo field trip,) and had tons of treats. I REALLY wanted a piece of the chocolate cake they served, but I controlled myself.
I still can’t believe I have a kindergarten graduate. First grade will be coming up faster than I want. Plus, the twins will hopefully be headed to a few days of preschool in the Fall.
But first, todayΒ is officially our first day of Summer Vacation, so we’ll be taking full advantage of having a fun Friday. I’m hoping the boys will enjoy being together this summer, instead of fighting. Fingers crossed.
So, what fun things do you have planned for this summer?
That’s so sweet! Are you sure your oldest won’t nap? I have homeschooled friends who “napped” or had quiet time until they left home.
Oh, I will definitely try π
What cute pics! Congrats to Mr. B for graduating kindergarten! It sounds like y’all are ready for a fun summer!
Thank you Trish!
Sounds like you have lots of good things coming your way this summer! I have a lot of things going on too. The play I’m rehearsing for performs the second half of August so I’ll be working on that a lot. Running of course, and marathon training starts in July! And then a couple of fun little things planned, like going to Hershey Park and Blogger Bash in NYC!
Awesome! I wish I could meet you at Blogger Bash…maybe next year.
Awwww, excited for all these changes for your family. And that’s awesome you’ll be teaching dance this summer–what kind?
CUTE the twins got some fauxhawks π Love all of these photos of your boys. Hope they will soon enjoy summer break and that you get some extra zzzs in the morning π PS: i can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the 30-day challenge. Hope all went well!
I’ll be teaching ballet π I’m pretty excited.
I don’t want to jinx it, but the twins have slept until 7 am two days in a row…it’s a summer miracle!!!
Happy Summer vacation!! Hope you have an amazing time this summer π They all look like they’re getting so big!
Thank you! They really are!
Great pics of the boys! You are in for a fun summer!
Thank you!
Adorable boys! Enjoy your summer break, and good job on not eating the cake! Our summer is already packed. My oldest is having oral surgery (bleh), my middle daughter has gymnastics everyday, and youngest is doing 2 soccer camps plus AYSO and her regular sewing classes. As for me, I want to work on an ebook, freelancing, and my website. Always running!
Wow. You are busy! But, it all sounds like good, fun stuff.
Awe great job on getting through Kinder Mr. B! School years go by so fast. Mine just finished 1st grade and I can’t believe it! Time flies. Great job on self control with that chocolate cake!! I would have devoured it!! Haha. Hope your summer goes amazing!!

It DOES go by way too fast. I hope you have a wonderful summer too!
I LOVE their hair! So sweet! Your boys are so cute.
Thank you! They kept looking at themselves in the mirror an smiling about it. π
The year goes by so incredibly fast! I can’t believe that my son will be in the 3rd grade! Your boys are so adorable. Teaching your own dance classes sounds like it will be super fun and an adventure on its own! How exciting! You’ll have your hands full for sure! Hopefully they’ll let you get some…ummm….rest? Said no mom ever.
Ha! Exactly!
Awww! Congrats to everyone! Potty training, first year of school done, and summer – that makes for a very happy Friday, indeed!
Agreed. Thank you!
Congratulations on making to summer vacation! Your boys are adorable and I’m sure the oldest will be excited to start 1st grade! Have a good summer!
Sounds like you guys are going to have a super fun summer vacation!
Thank you!
I’m unfortunately working all summer but I love reading about everyone elses summer vacation!
Well, it’s definitely more vacation for my kids than me π And if it makes you feel any better, I’ll be working on Saturdays. π
Yay for new beginnings!! I hope you have a wonderful summer. π
Thanks Rebecca!
I adore looking at first day pictures compared to the last school day. It’s incredible the changes, mature and growth every kid goes through.
Happy summer to you! Now go out and enjoy yourself this weekend and have some wine, too!! π
Xo
Oh yes…I did π Thanks Lindsay!
The twins look adorable! (And how cool are those jammies?!) I am crazy excited about summer. The sunshine, the pool, the cookouts… it is all a big ball of excitement for me. Congrats on teaching your own dance classes! That’s awesome!
Thank you!
Oh fun! <3 I really dread when my youngest decides no more naps. :/ My 3 year old is not allowed to nap because she is so active and even a 10 minute nap will keep her up til 1 am! :/ Park time, pool time, visiting family, and local attractions for us!
Wow! She sounds like she’s be a match for my twins for sure!
If they would only listen to us about not getting up early! We did the 3 day potty training with our daughter and it was a success. Good luck!
Awesome to hear that! I think it might be our only hope.
Your boys are so cute!

Congrats to your son, and to you too on your new chapter. So exciting!
Enjoy every minute. Too soon you will see then of school photos.
Thank you! I’ve been trying. π
Love the cute pictures of them. Boo for no naps, but yay for your success with Whole 30! great job! And the dance class thing sounds fun!
Thank you so much Justine!
Such cuties! My oldest just finished 3rd grade and this next school year will be my last with a kiddo still at home! This summer we are having LOTS of pool time, riding our dirt bikes, and maybe a trip or two!
Your boys are so adorable, hard to believe they are naughty π Haha I am sure you could use a lot more nap time, hope they cooperate though. Happy summer vacation to all you guys.

Sweet post. My kiddos will be starting preschool in the fall. How did that happen so quickly?!
