First Born Fridays

July 3, 2015 By Shann 42 Comments

I’ve been still thinking a lot about my first baby.  I post a lot about my twins and their birth because it was very emotional and traumatic for me, and I want to help other people by sharing our stories.  However,  I don’t want my oldest to feel as though I don’t think/post about him too.

firstborn

His pregnancy and birth also sticks in my mind for very different reasons. It was all new for me…my first time becoming pregnant, and my first time being someone’s mother.

Just born

His pregnancy and birth was not without complications either. Although they weren’t as extreme as the twins’, I still would like to share it with you.

So, I’ve decided each Friday in July is going to be dedicated to him.

My sweet, chubby baby who has turned into a smart, imaginative 5-year-old in the blink of an eye.  We’re halfway through his summer school program, and getting closer and closer to Kindergarten.  I simply can’t believe it.

The wonderful thing about a blog is that it is like keeping a journal that you can look back on.  I want all three of my children to be represented equally, and I hope you’ll enjoy getting to know my oldest as much as we do.

Great idea! I am the third child of three girls and unfortunately my baby book is not as FULL as my other sisters and it always feels kinda sad to look through it and I understand my parents were busy however it would have been awesome to have a full baby book to look back on! I think it is great that you are doing this for your oldest son! I am sure at times he is overwhelmed and overlooked having twin baby brothers! This will be perfect for him to look back on and see just how much you do love him! So excited to see your upcoming posts! ~Amanda Marie~

All your children are so cute! There will always be something special about your first, having your middle, and your last. They will understand one day 🙂

What a cutie! There is something just so special about your first. They teach you so many things before you jump into round 2. (Or in your case 2 and 3!)

Oh, I love learning about all of your kids! I totally understand it’s easy to get wound up in the trauma of having preemies and forgetting to write about the child you had before them. It’s amazing that you’ve chosen to dedicate a day to your first-born.

What a cute idea!! I am the oldest of 8. So you can imagine how that goes. haha. I’m sure your son will always feel loved, I have many siblings whose birth stories are much more interesting than mine was and I just cherish the fact that they’re alive and healthy. I’ve never felt that my mom cared about them more. But I understand the balancing mommy act as well. I try to post about each of my kids equally too!
