Since tomorrow will be my first Money-saving Monday, I wanted to write a little about the past few days, and about tomorrow.
Friday was Kindergarten Orientation for my oldest. Wow. I still can’t believe he is going to be in Kindergarten this fall. Plus, it’s ALL day. I still remember riding on the little bus, and just going for the morning. Now, they ride with all the big kids, have reading, writing, and math, plus use “Smart” boards, and won’t be home until after 4 pm. Yikes. I’ll admit I’m a little nervous. I know he’s going to be fine, and probably more than fine, but it’s still scary.
I’m really glad he went to preschool this year. Even though he only goes for 3 days a week for a couple of hours, I think it has helped him prepare, and will make the transition much easier. Plus, both he and I LOVE his preschool. His teacher is fabulous, the kids are great, they always are bringing home such cute projects, and the school director knows everyone by name. I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you are in the area, please comment or send me a message, and I can send you the name.
Not only are we preparing for Kindergarten, but we are also preparing for a busy summer. Yesterday was registration for all the activities through our Park and Recreation Department. For the first time, I signed all three kids up for activities. The twins are finally old enough and healthy enough, so they will be taking swim lessons and tumbling. My oldest has T-ball, summer school (which is a Kindergarten preparation program,) swimming, and tumbling. Last summer, all we had was swimming for the oldest. I’m excited we will be busy, but again a little nervous. It’s a lot of coordinating, driving, and enlisting help. Each of the twins needs an adult to accompany them, so I’m trying to find a “Mother’s” helper. My parents have been fantastic helping me out, but I want them to be able to enjoy their summer too.
Finally, tomorrow is the twins’ actual birthday. Even though they were due August 12th, 2012, they were born May 4th, 2012. Remember, “May the Fourth be with You,” was our theme to the Walk?! They will be THREE YEARS OLD. I can’t believe it. Where have my tiny little babies gone? They have come such a long way from 1 lb 7 oz and 2 lbs 2 oz. Sometimes their stay in the hospital seems like another lifetime ago. They still have the scars from surgeries as reminders to how strong and brave they were.
Now, they are both over 30 lbs, don’t stop running or talking, and want to do everything their big brother does. They are definitely challenging toddlers, but they are so sweet, and truly are miracle boys. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
