Laundry in a House of Boys with ESPRO

August 11, 2015 By Shann 115 Comments

Laundry

When you live with 4 boys (OK, 3 boys and 1 husband,) you have a LOT of laundry. It’s not just regular laundry either. It’s dirty, stinky, dirty, messy, dirty clothes. Did I mention dirty? Sometimes, I’m not even sure how they get so dirty.

Their clothes are covered in food stains, mud, sweat, grass stains, and some other substances I can’t quite identify. Just using laundry detergent doesn’t cut it. I need something to remove the stains while keeping the clothes in good shape. Even though I love to shop, I can’t afford to go out and buy them new things every time they spill something (darn those leaky sippy cups,) or fall into something (they always find the puddles.)

So, when ESPRO Sports Cleaner contacted me, and asked if I would like to try their products, I immediately said YES!!!!

Laundry Help-

Espro Sports Cleaner

ESPRO Sports Cleaner is made by Environmental Sports Products, and was developed by a high school football coach named Steve Dean. He saw a need for a product that could get out tough stains on his team’s uniforms. Football players get covered in dirt, grass, and blood stains, so Steve wanted something that would clean those tough stains, remove odors, while also being friendly to the environment.

Even though we aren’t sports players yet (OK, we did play T-ball, ) ESPRO Sports Cleaner is great for any type of clothing that gets stained. Plus, it works as a multi-purpose cleaner around the house. It’s great for your carpet, furniture, car, and tile floors. Since it does not have harmful  chemicals like bleach, butyl, or phosphates I can feel good using it around my 3 kiddos.

So how did it work? You be the judge:

Espro 2

Dirty Sheets

First up, my kid’s sheets.  All I have to say about them is YUCK. They seem to drool A LOT, and it leaves a dirty, stinky stain. It doesn’t help that they always sleep in the same spot, and get mad when they have clean sheets. I guess it’s comforting to sleep in your own drool spot? These were pretty old, ground in stains, as they have been washed many times without a stain remover (and I DO wash them a lot, even with the protests.)  The instructions recommend spraying it, then letting it sit for 24 hours, treating it again, then washing it. So,that’s what I did.

For fresh stains, you simply spray it, scrub it in, let it sit for 3-5 minutes and wash.

Here’s the before and after.

Carpet

Next, I wanted to try our living room carpet. The kids are notorious for spilling anything and everything there. As soon as they are 18, we’re saying goodbye. I’m talking about to the carpet, of course. But, until then, here’s how the ESPRO Sports Cleaner did on some mysterious stains. I’m guessing it’s prune juice, since that’s been the flavor of the week.

Shirt Stains

Finally, my husband had a shirt with some yucky armpit stains.  I could actually see them getting better as I scrubbed the ESPRO Sports Cleaner on it. Here’s the final result.

Overall, I think this ESPRO Sports Cleaner is a winner. Everything looked and smelled better.  Much, much better. It’s easy to use, and a LOT cheaper than buying new clothes all the time.  To purchase your own cleaner or to read more about it, you can visit ESPRO HERE.

I was surprised on how well this worked looking at the pictures. I still will have to get some because I have 3 little grandchildren and my biggest boy ever, my husband.

Wow, this looks like good stuff! There are so many stain products out there and I feel like I’m always trying a new one to see if it’s any better than the last one. I might have to try this one. Our main dining area is carpeted and we constantly have little stains on the floor. Ugh. So I’d definitely love to wipe some of those out! Thanks for sharing!

I’ve never tried this product before. We often make our own laundry detergent and use Shout. Might give this a try.

What a difference this makes! Especially now that it’s summer and kids are out and about playing outside, it’s important to keep their clothes as stain-free as possible. Thanks for sharing this!
