I love to read, and I read to my children as often as possible. I think reading is such an important part of learning. As you also may have guessed, I also love writing. Not only does it help me spread awareness and help other parents, but it allows me to be creative.

Mascot Books was started by a husband, Naren Aryal, and wife, Aimee Aryal, who wanted to create a book for their daughter. They had just been to a Virgina Tech Football Game, and their daughter, Anna, wanted to read a book about the mascot, the Hokie Bird.
Aimee searched everywhere for a book like that, but couldn’t find one. So, she wrote one for her daughter herself. Naren then published it, having to find an editor, illustrator, and graphic designer to help him.
Their first book Hello Hokie Bird! was a huge success, so they continued to write and publish books about professional and college sports teams and their mascots for children. Out of this success grew the name and company, Mascot books.
As you can see, I’m just showing you a sampling of my favorite teams. I’m from Wisconsin, so I gotta love my Packers and Brewers, but will always be a Wildcat fan since I went to University of Arizona. The books are reasonable priced, with most of the children’s books being around $14.95. Not only can you buy single books, but you can also buy them in packages of 4 to give as gifts. That way you get a discount of $2.50 off each book…and you know how much I love a great deal!
Even though they started in children’s books (and they have a ton!) in 2003, they have branched out and offer a wide range with everything from Cookbooks to Fiction to Non-Fiction. There are over 1200 titles on their website!
