Mid Month Check, February

February 16, 2016 By Shann 33 Comments

Mid Month

Seriously. It’s mid month, again? As you’ll remember from Days are Long, but months go by fast this happens way too often. Every month!

This month, I feel like I’ve missed almost 2 weeks of it being sick. Ugh. I wish I could say I was back to normal, but that darn bug is hanging around still. So, my goals have taken a bit of a hit. I’m hoping to be back to normal by the end of the week, so I can kick this month’s booty.

Even though I haven’t done so well, let’s take a look anyways.

Mid Month Check

February Goals

1. Get comfortable in my new job

I completed my training, and did a few classes by myself. Tomorrow will be the true test, as I will be completely on my own. Wish me luck!

2. Plan our trip for the Walker and Willis Birthday Walk to Fight TTTS

Nope. Not even a little bit. Better hurry up on this one.

3. Come up with a theme and get our t-shirts (or sweatshirts) designed for our March for Babies Team

Still working on this. I have one idea I like, but my husband doesn’t seem convinced yet. Still open to suggestions!

4. Increase my water intake

I honestly haven’t been drinking very much plain water. It just tastes bad when I’m sick, so I’ve been drinking lots of tea, both hot and cold.

5. Do a Valentine’s Craft with the boys

Nope. Going to have to do a February/Winter craft instead.

6. Make a meal plan for one week

The week before getting sick, I had 3 meals in a row…woo hoo. I even used the crock pot. Then, the sickness and planning went out the window.

So, I haven’t been doing so hot on these goals, but I’m giving myself some slack for the sickness.

I did complete the Walker and Willis Auction, and helped my son with his 100 Day project, so that’s something.

I haven’t even been to the gym for a week, which is crazy. I’m going to attempt it for the first time today, so maybe I can sweat out the last of the sickness.

How are you doing on your goals for the month?

I hope you get better soon! I count tea toward my water intake as long as it’s not sweetened or natural sweeteners.

Sorry to hear you have been so sick! Hopefully getting a little sweat session in will help you out a bit. Doesn’t sound like your goals suffered too bad and it’s probably better you take the time to rest up. And I’m totally with you on how fast the months are going…it’s insane that it is already the middle of Feb!

Even though your goals may have taken a hit due to you being sick, you are still doing great! I can’t wait to see what you accomplish at the end of this month.

Well, I am glad to hear that you are on the mend, so I think you did great on your goals considering you were sick! Give yourself credit for what you have accomplished and forget about the other stuff – there are still a few days before the end of the month to get some goals in! Hugs xxxc

I hope you feel better soon. I agree that plain water gets old so fast. I try to spice it up with some fruit or sprinkle in some of those flavor packets.

It sounds like you have had a good reason to not be doing so hot on these, but I’m sure you’ll complete some of them! I have not been doing great on my goals either. I tend to get super busy with my little dudes and forget to take care of my stuff, but I am trying. Good luck, you still have some time!

Don’t be too hard on yourself Shann! As mother’s we spread ourselves very thin and our spreading doesn’t stop when we get sick. I’ve been sick with respiratory viruses for 6 weeks now! The peak of BB season for the middle schooler and high schooler and chasing a toddler and working 4 days a week! No wonder I can’t get healthy, no days off for moms!

I’ve been sick this month as well and totally didn’t do a lot of the things I had planned. It happens from time to time and may be our bodies way of telling us to slow down. I hope you start feeling better soon and are able to get back on track with your goals! You seem to be doing fine so far!

That’s the part I don’t like about being sick, it makes everything get off track. I hope you are feeling better and up and running by the end of the week.

I reallyyyyy need to drink more water! x_x I’m on a surgery rotation right now, so I haven’t been drinking as much water because needing to pee while scrubbed in is a rather terrible feeling (sigh).

I hope you feel/get better soon!

I hope you are back to 100% soon! I wasn’t drinking enough water and discovered that my new favorite drink is hot water. Strange…but changing the temperature made it so much more appealing! Good luck on your new job (though I’m sure you don’t need it). You will do an amazing job.

I need to start writing my goals for each month, that’s a great way to stay motivated! I increased my daily water intake by infusing fresh fruits and veggies in it! My favorite is strawberries with cucumbers!

LOVE this idea of writing about and maintaining monthly goals. Think I’m going to start writing down my goals and keeping them on my desk so I can continuously “check-in”.
Thanks for this very helpful post!
