I was having a really good day. The babysitter was watching the twins, my oldest was at preschool, and I was getting a lot of work done. I was even catching up on some laundry.
Then the bad news.
I was on Facebook, and saw that my page was tagged. I went to read it, and there were all these words like Copyright and other not so nice things being said about my blog and me. As I read further, I found out there is another mommy blogger with the same blog name. Ugh.
I didn’t know! Honestly. I never even thought to look. I also didn’t know all the blogging rules. I’m new to this, OK?
When I started blogging, I started it as therapy. My twins just got out of the hospital, and writing was really helping me get out all my feelings and emotions. I used the title Dirt and Noise because someone had posted the saying, “Dirt + Noise = Boys,” and I thought that fit us perfectly.
Anyways, to make a long, upsetting story short, I’m going to be changing my blog name. I’m not sure what it’s going to be yet, but I hope to make a decision and change soon. I hope you’ll keep following along on whatever it’s called.
I guess I’m mostly disappointed because I have been working so hard lately to get my blog out there. Now, it almost feels like I am starting over.
Change is hard, but change is good, right?

Oh man! I’m so sorry to hear you have to deal with this. It can suck for sure. Hang in there. You never know. Maybe your new name will be even more fantastic! I’ll still be here. Good luck!

That is so stupid. The world is small – of course there will be someone out there with the same blog name. Well, I think I should start looking for all Marina’s on Facebook – they stole my name!! :O

I saw you mention this happening in a thread on Facebook. That’s rough – I hope you’re able to bounce back from the inevitable despondency that hits when something like this happens.
Your new name looks good btw. Interestingly there’s a cool range of kids clothes that’s called ‘Dirt and Noise’ so I’m not sure how the Copyright would play out in that space anyway so it may be good that you’re well out of it!
