I can’t believe another year has slipped by. Even though sometimes the days seem to drag on and on and on…I really can’t believe my babies are 2 years old.
Looking back at their birthday picture from last year, it almost doesn’t seem real. Where did those helpless little babies go? And who are these milk drinking, food eating, walking, talking toddlers?!
We have (knocking on wood as we speak) made it through another Flu/RSV season, and it was hopefully our last of isolation. I’m going to wait until I talk to our doctor at their 2 year appointment to find out for sure, but I think by year 2, my twins’ immune systems and lungs have caught up. Maybe I can relax a little. Just a little.
They are learning so much every single day. New words, new ways to play, new ways to annoy their older brother, new ways to turn mommy’s hair grey, and new ways to scare their grandma. They really are pretty amazing. Especially when you think how far they’ve come.
Our twins fought through Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) and Selective Intrauterine Growth Restriction (SIUGR) in the womb, and they survived being born at 25 weeks, 5 days weighing only 1 lb 7 oz and 2 lbs 2 oz. They braved the NICU for 91 and 93 days. These babies beat the odds, proved doctors wrong, and have amazed us all with their strength and determination.
And they are just getting started!
Happy 2nd Birthday to my precious miracles! We love you so very much!
