I’ve been discussing some heavy, emotional topics this week, so I thought I’d lighten it up a bit today since it’s a special day, plus we got some very exciting news to share.
First the news…
We’ve been named the 2016 Ambassador Family for the March for Babies in Milwaukee!!!!
We went from raising $1,260 in 2014 to $3,050 in 2015 all thanks to YOU!!!! Can’t wait to March for Babies again next Spring! Hope you all will join us!
Now, what’s so special about today?
We’re going to meet Thomas the Train!!!
No, we’re not going to journey to the Magical Island of Sodor, but we’re going to do the next best thing…visit the National Railroad Museum. Thomas is making a stop here today for “A Day Out with Thomas.”
We have out tickets to ride on Thomas, we have our Thomas t-shirts and our Thomas hats. I think we’re all set!
Last year, we celebrated the twins’ birthday right after the March of Dimes March for Babies. It was a fun party, but honestly, it was hard on everyone. The kids were all tired and cranky from the walk, and the party started right at their nap time. So, I put them down for a little nap, but that didn’t really help the crankies. Plus, it was still a little cold, so everyone had to stay bundled up. Gotta love Spring in WI.
So, this year, we decided after the March for Babies, we would just relax. We would then either do a party at a later date or do something special. That is when I read about the Day out with Thomas, and I thought it was perfect.
Not only do they get to see and ride Thomas, but there are tons of kids activities. In fact, we are probably listening to a story told by Sir Topham Hat as I write this.
So, expect a full report next week.
Until then, take a look back at my oldest at his three-year-old birthday party. Notice a theme?
