February is Here
While it may eventually be just as cold and snowy, February is starting off to be a much nicer month that January. We had sunshine and the sound of snow melting all day yesterday. I’m hoping that Groundhog does the right thing (whatever that may be) and we get closer to spring.
It’s time for a look at my February goals, but first let’s see how I finished up in January.
January Re-cap
1. Get back into a routine
Yes! It was off to a rough start, but we did it. Plus, I made it to the gym with the twins a lot.
2. Start getting items together for the Walker and Willis Online Auction
Yes! I’ve got a ton of great stuff, and the Auction starts this WEDNESDAY. Please come “Like” the Facebook Page and get ready to comment with your bids this week.
3. Have a date night
Yes! We went to my husband’s work Christmas party and had a lot of fun.
4. Seriously try to make ANYTHING from Pinterest
No. Ugh. I’m just going to have to resign myself to the fact that this may never happen.
5. Get a new planner for the year and get organized
Yes! I’ve actually got more than one. One for all my fitness/work, one for my blog, and one for everything else. Three might be overkill, but I like keeping them all in their own special place so I have access.
6. Cross off at least one thing from my 30 things before the end of my 30โs list
#1 #14 and #15 have been crossed off!
February Goals
1. Get comfortable in my new job
If you didn’t know, I just started training to teach little ones dance!
2. Plan our trip for the Walker and Willis Birthday Walk to Fight TTTS
We need to figure out logistics and the budget.
3. Come up with a theme and get our t-shirts (or sweatshirts) designed for our March for Babies Team
Our first theme was Superman, and our second was Star Wars. We need something to convey braveness, as our team name is Bex’s Brave Brothers.ย Suggestions are welcome!
4. Increase my water intake
I’ve been working out more, so I need to really focus on this.
5. Do a Valentine’s Craft with the boys
Does NOT need to be something for Pinterest.
6. Make a meal plan for one week
I’m going to make a list, get recipes ready, and get that crock pot out. Finally.

I have been working on my water intake and meal planning too! It’s an ongoing goal of mine that I often forget to do but definitely something I want to improve on!
Homemade Experience says
Love the list! Make a meal plan is also on mine. And awesome on completely most of the Jan goals! A routine NEEDS to be back in my life, too.
Brittany says
Good luck in February!

I really admire you because even though you’re crazy busy with twins, you still manage to hit up the gym! You truly are an inspiration. That new job sounds like a blast! Best of luck!!

Great goals! More water is so important if you’re working out more. I find drinking from a straw really helps me. I also love meal planning – it takes the guessing out of everything .. Can’t wait to see how February goes for you!
Shann says
Thank you! Yes, a straw does help me too.
marettemendoza says
I tried making a meal plan once before and didn’t keep it up, but it’s something I want to pick up again, especially given my goal to spend less and save more. Let us know how it goes. Good luck!
Shann says
Thank you! I will!

You did a great job in January! Your Pinterest goal sounds like my goal to get a house cleaning schedule created. Always on the list, never actually happens!
Shann says
Exactly! ๐
Dana says
Hey Shann,
Congrats on the new projects. You’re obviously taking them seriously. It shows.
As far as the Pinterest thing…I also see you want to get the crock pot out…maybe make that your Pinterest project. Make a crock pot recipe from Pinterest. Then you’ll have effectively crossed two items off with one action.
Just a thought ๐
Shann says
Excellent idea. Thanks Dana!
Melissa says
Awesome , I also want to get comfortable in my new job hahah and increase my water intake we have similar goalsโฅ Great post
Shann says
Thank you! Good luck to you!

#4 is super important! I try to drink at least 8 bottles of water a day but of course that is hard! Good luck to you!
Shann says
Wow. 8 bottles is impressive!
Stefanie (@LexieLooDylan2) says
Those are some great goals! I had to laugh at #4 on your January list. I pin so many amazing things and plan on doing those projects then…nothing! May I suggest the thumbprint hearts for the boys? SO easy and you really don’t need much of anything! Good luck with your goals this month. I’ll try to think of a “brave” them!
Shann says
Thank you! And thank you for the thumbprint idea!

I think you are so funny when you are giving up making something from pinterest. My daughter had made a few things, but me? NO, I am right there with you .
goals are so important, keep up the good work.
Shann says
๐ Thanks Sandy!
Rachel (@thedigger0) says
Hey Shann,
I always enjoy reading your goals because it gets my mind thinking about mine. I also really like hearing about your plans with your family. As I am firm believer that families with young kids is tough work and the two adults need time out, you confirm this to me. I wish more mums and dads would put an effort into their relationship like you hubby do.
I have plans for Pinterest too but its one of those things I put on the back burner. So I know how you feel. While I am single and always busy I do a week food planning and preparation. While I don’t have to do as much as you that is clear, it is always such a relief when I get to my days where time is of the essence. And those slow cookers they are just a miracle.
As for your theme, I always think Wonder woman but it appears that its a male theme, so my advice wont work. But I do look forward to hearing what you came up with. Thanks for a wonderful post.
Rachel.
Shann says
Thank you so much, Rachel.
Lindsay (@itssimplylinds) says
One of my goals starting this week was to be more conscious about my water intake, so I’m right there with you! Hey congrats on your new job, I didn’t know you were doing that. I can’t wait to hear stories about it. Did you decide what craft to do with the kids for Valentine’s Day?
Shann says
Not yet. Something simple! ๐ Thanks Lindsay!

Awwww good luck with the dancing gig!!!!! I would think that would be a pretty fun job. I can’t wait for my daughter to actually start listening to directions so I can enroll her in dance.
DebbieZ says
These are great goals! Good luck on your new gig! That is probably such a fun and rewarding job!
Angie@chasingmyhalo says
You crushed January! Seriously! Who needs to make something from Pinterest anyway? ;-). Have you ever thought about doing a “day in the life of” post or video? I’d be so intrigued!!

I really never have…but maybe I will now. ๐
