Since my last two First Born Friday posts (you can read them HERE and HERE) have been pretty emotional, I thought I would share something a little lighter this Friday. It’s the last Friday that my baby will be 5-years-old!!!! So, here are 5 of my favorite pictures/moments from the last 5 years. (It was really hard to pick one from each year, but I still need to go make decorations for his party, so I made some quick decisions!)
This one is absolutely one of my all time favorites. It’s from about a month after he was born.
Sure it may just have been gas, but this is the first time he ever smiled. Plus, we caught it on camera! We didn’t even have camera phones back then, so this was a pretty big deal.
Next, we have a typical winter in Wisconsin picture in his second year.
Look at that gummy grin! He was well over a year old and still had hardly any teeth. We got him all dressed up, and this was the first time he ever went and played in the snow. He was so bundled up, he could hardly move outside. He sure did love it!
This next picture is right before his 2nd birthday, so I guess it’s still in year 2….but I couldn’t resist.
I had went out to dinner with my friends for my birthday, and my husband dressed him up like this. He then came to the restaurant and had him walk over. My heart just melted.
I was on bed rest with the twins, but he was having so much fun with Grandma and Grandpa in the bath, I had to come in and take a picture.
For those of you who don’t already know, I have a great love for everything Hello Kitty. This picture was from when the twins had just come home from the NICU.
I think we were all a little over-tired and giddy, so my son had put on this shower cap my Mom had given me, and I had to take a picture.
Finally, you get one bonus. This is from my fabulous friend and photographer, Laura Lee. How she got this amazing picture, I’ll never know. He never wants to post for me!
So, there you have it. 5 of my favorite moments from the past 5 years. There are countless others, but now I have to get crafty because someone is turning 6 in a few days.
I had a camera phone 5 years ago ๐ Loving all your photos – love all the memories you shared.
Lucky! I just finally got a good one ๐ Thank you!
Great pictures! I love them all. Your photographer friend did a beautiful job on the last one.
Yes, she’s awesome. Thank you!
That’s one heck of a smile on your little guy! It’s fun to see the changes through the years and five years old is a big milestone. Happy birthday to him! (BTW… I’m a fellow Wisconsinite. It’s always nice to “meet” someone from the Midwest.)
Awesome!
What a cutie!
Boy, that would be SO hard to choose just one photo to showcase for every year! I loved the first one – gas or not, it’s adorable!
Thank you! Me too. ๐
Aww, cute photos! Especially the last one ๐ I worked as a newborn photographer for a couple hospitals when I was in college and it’s definitely a challenge to capture moments like that. Nice job on the first one!
It was pure luck on my part ๐ Thank you!
He just melts my heart! That picture in the tub, and when he’s smiling 1 month old! You are so blessed.
Thank you so much!
SHUT UP that last photo of him makes me just want to pinch his ‘lil cheeks! What a handsome little man!!! xoxo
Awe. Thank you so much Chrissa!
Isn’t is a sweet/sad blend of emotions looking back over the years as our kids grow? Your son has a gorgeous smile! And photographers amaze me as well, no way my kids will even sit still for a picture taken by me.
I know! And yes, definitely bitter sweet.
What a cutie! Great pics, thanks for sharing!
Thank you Cindy!
ahhh! what a cutie! i love the shot of him smiling while sleeping as a baby. And in that most recent one, he looks like a little catalog model! ๐

Me too! Thank you Lindsey!
It must have been hard to pick 5 of your favorites. I know if I had to pick five of my favorite of my son it would take me days and he is only three.
Here’s wishing your son a very happy birthday and many many more.
Thank you so much!
My heart is melting over those pictures. I miss the baby days with my boys.
Awe. Thank you!
Time flies so fast. It feels like yesterday I just gave birth and today my daughter is already 2.6.
Looks like your son knows how to pose for a good picture. He’s very photogenic. The first picture is adorable.
My daughter also hardly had any teeth at 1 y.o.:)
It does fly! I can’t believe he was ever that small, and now I can’t believe he’s going to be 6.
Oh my gosh, he is so photogenic! He looks amazing in all of these pictures. And look at him posing in that last one, he’s ready to be a little model haha!

Hey Shann, I am in love with your son…he is soooo cute. If you would have stayed in Florida, then I would have definitely tried to come on his b’day and played with him…God bless the cutiepie… ๐
Ha ha! Thank you!
It is so emotional and fulfilling to look back over the years of being a mother. Such a blessing.
Yes to both. Thank you!
He is so cute. Love the photo of him in the raincoat. Such a lovely smile he has.
Thank you!
They grow up so fast, don’t they? My little boy is 7, and I look at him daily and think: Stop growing up already
Yes!
I love this idea of choosing a picture from each year! It’s so funny – when they’re younger I always wonder what they will look like in a couple of years – but at an older age I look back and think “of course that’s what he looks like now.” So funny. You have a very handsome six year old!
Thank you!
They grow up so fast. I want my baby to stay little forever. Each year will bring years, I’m sure.
I know. Too fast
What a special memento of his five years! He is such a good looking kid and I know how loved he is!
Thank you so much!
So precious! I love photos from when my first born was younger. Your photos are great.

I think my favorite is that recent one by the fence, but they’re all so cute!
Aww he looks just like you in that bathtub picture. I love these!
Thank you! ๐
He is such a cutie. It is amazing how much a kid changes over the years. My first born will be turning…gulp… 10 in February.
He doesn’t even look like the same kid!
So much cuteness! ๐
