It’s our wedding Anniversary! Happy 7th anniversary to my husband! Anyone know what the gift is supposed to be?
To start, let me tell you 7 things about us and our wedding:
- Our friends have called us “Shandy” ever since we started dating Shann + Andy = Shandy
- We gave everyone a bottle of Summer Shandy as wedding Favors
- Our wedding colors were lime green and brown
- Andy let me have a Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel on the top of our cake. When you put them together, they made a kissing sounds.
- We met through Match.com
- Both of our middle names start with the letter E
- We share a wedding anniversary with my Parents! Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!
Now, here are 7 odd/fun facts about my husband, Andy. Enjoy!
#1 He is a huge VW Bus Person
His whole family is into cars. He and his two brothers all own VW Buses and even belong to a Bus Group. They have camp-outs, got to cars show, and just have fun.
#2 He enjoys things that start with the letter B
- Beer
- Bob Marley
- Buses (VW, of course)
- Beer
- Our oldest son’s name starts with a B
- Did I mention Beer?
#3 He is a great Dad…partly because he is still a big kid
He’s definitely the fun parent. He swings the kids around, throws them in the air, plays games, makes contraptions to pull them around the neighborhood (he linked up 2 Cozy Coupes and a wagon, then pulled them around like a parade.) He’s always doing toe touches and jumping off things.
#4 He has does weird Toe thing
First, let me say his toes look weird. They are very round at the end, and I think they look like ET’s fingers. Then he crosses and uncrosses his 2nd and 3rd toe while he’s sitting around watching TV or just hanging out. He doesn’t like to wear socks, so it’s pretty noticeable. Plus, now our kids do it too. Super weird.
#5 He is very artistic and creative
He makes beautiful paintings, drawings, and even sculptures. Heck, you saw his Charlie Brown Head, right? I can always count on an awesome piece of artwork involving the kids for either my birthday or Christmas. Here’s just a sampling of some of his other work.
PS. His picture of Jiggy the dog was featured on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Bravo. He even showed Sarah Jessica Parker!

#6 He loves hot humid weather…and his best friend
Remember how I was just alone for a week? That’s because he was visiting his best friend in the Virgin Islands. They talk on the phone all the time, and text too. It’s cute.
He also loves to visit New Orleans…which is very hot and humid. Our first trip as a couple was there for Jazzfest. He also took me back there a year later and proposed.
#7 He always make me laugh….sometimes even if he’s not trying.
He’s got an odd sense of humor, and even an odder sense of fashion, but I love him.
