Today we went on a little trip to one of my favorite store…IKEA. If you’ve never been there, you have to go at least once for the experience. It’s huge, it has escalators for your cart, and it’s from Sweden. What’s not to love? It also has fairly inexpensive furniture, organizational stuff, and household accessories.
We went today with the purpose of finding a cheap couch. We are looking to convert one of our play areas (yes, we have more than one. who am I kidding? the whole house is a play area!) into a more adult space. We were thinking corner couch, big area rug, TV mounted to the wall, and no toys in sight.
We didn’t find a couch, but we did get an awesome deal on a giant rug ($39.99,) a new light fixture, and some bins to get organized. Did I mention we have toys everywhere? Well, now at least they can be hidden out of sight.

Getting organized is one thing. Staying organized with toddlers is another. The nice thing about these bins is that they can be opened partially, and I put fabric containers on top so the whole lid won’t be torn off. We’ll see how long this lasts with my three little mess makers.
Now, I mentioned that “We” went to IKEA. Well, it was actually just me, my husband, and the oldest one. The twins stayed home with Grandma. One took a nap. One didn’t. Can you tell which one?
The twins are now in bed, so I’m going to work on our bedroom. That definitely needs to be organized, and the kids don’t even go in that room! Hopefully I can make a dent before I decide to see what’s on Netflix.
Oh! Did I mention I’m down 6 lbs on my new health plan?!?! I’m still not over the “I want to eat all the time” phase, but I do think my appetite is decreasing a little bit. I think I’m most proud that I haven’t had dessert in 12 days. That is a HUGE deal for me. Other than shopping, chocolate is my next favorite thing in the world.
Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!
