Marching for Babies
We did it! Marching for babies complete. It was our second year as a family team, and we completed the March for Babies to raise money for the March of Dimes yesterday. It didn’t even rain on us! It was a little cold, but we layered everyone up, and it actually didn’t feel too bad. Considering the ominous forecast, we had a really good turnout. Here’s a team picture:
Sorry for the small picture, but it was hard to capture that many with a cell phone! Not everyone was able to make it because of the weather, but I think our team was represented well. We really appreciated all the support and love from everyone.
I think the kids all had a lot of fun, and the adults too.
My 5-year-old walked the entire walk! The twins were pretty good. Little guy was in a good mood the whole time, but big guy had a few meltdowns. That’s what happens when you give him Jelly Beans at the beginning of the walk, and run out halfway through. The kid loves his candy.
The best news of the day…We reached our GOAL!!!!!!!! Actually we surpassed it. Right now, our family team has donated over $2500 to the March of Dimes this year. It feels pretty awesome. Plus, you can still donate, if you haven’t had the chance. Just visit https://www.marchforbabies.org/shanneva
Next year we’ll do even better!
It was a really great day, and now it’s time for a little break. At least for the rest of the night. Tomorrow, we’ll start brainstorming about next year’s March and figure out our theme. We will keep fundraising and marching until all babies get a healthier start in life.
Thank you to everyone who participated in all our fundraisers! Our family feels so happy and grateful to know so many generous, caring people. Even though it is a small amount of money when it comes to helping babies have a healthier start, every little bit counts. From the bottom of my heart….THANK YOU! We can’t wait to walk with you next year!
