Party etiquette made Easy with Basic Invite

Party Etiquette

Party etiquette has always been important to me. I’m not an expert on manners, but I try to be thoughtful and appreciative. To me, party etiquette means being considerate by remembering to RSVP to events, by being on-time, and especially, by sending thank-you cards. I try to think about how I would feel if I were a guest, and then try to make my guests feel the same way. It’s so nice to feel valued.

Even though we live in a digital world, I am old-fashioned when it comes to cards. I like to take the time to create a card, write a personal message inside each, and then mail them to my guests. I’m not exactly sure what the rule is, but I try to get them out within a month of the party. With three boys, that’s often how long it takes me to finally take down the party decorations, so I figure I’m good.

Speaking of party decorations, I love when I can make my thank-you cards match the theme of the party. When Basic Invite, an online stationary company reached out to me, I had to check them out to see what I could create. I wanted to thank everyone for coming to our last party and for their thoughtful gifts.

Basic Invite

Basic Invite has everything from wedding invitations to first birthday announcements. They allow you to customize every element of the card, so you can really make it your own. With over 160 color options, I found exactly what I needed to make the perfect thank-you cards.

If you’ll remember, the theme of our NICUversary party was Dr. Seuss. I had taken lots of pictures before and during the party, so I wanted a photo card. I also wanted to use the exact colors that I used at the party, turquoise, red, and white. Here’s what I came up with:

party etiquette with Basic Invite

The process was so easy, and they had the exact colors I needed. I was a little worried at first because they had categories like Wedding and Baby Shower as some of the categories under the Thank You menu. However, you can customize the cards so well, it really didn’t matter which category I got the card from. The card I chose was The Modern Photo Collage, which was under the category of All Thank You cards. You can see all the cards HERE.

I loved how it shows you exactly how the card will look as you are making it. Plus, you can even get colored envelopes. They have over 40 different colors!

One other feature I loved about Basic Invite was the ability to order samples. Mr. B has a birthday coming up, and I was thinking of party invitations. They have a ton of 1st Birthday invitations, but I was able to customize it for his 7th birthday.

Other Cards

While I was searching the site, I noticed all of the beautiful wedding cards. Not only are their thank-you cards, but you can make your actual invitations on the site. I wish I would have known about Basic Invite when I was getting married.

Even though I have no need for wedding invites or wedding thank-you cards, I do have an anniversary coming up. I decided to play around and make my husband an anniversary card. So, honey, if you’re reading…Stop now!

Really, close this post.

Ok. Here it is:

party etiquette

I really loved how it turned out, and I hope my husband does too.

The ordering process was really easy, and my order came very fast. It was packed well, so no worries about bent cards. The quality and colors were fantastic. I can’t wait until my guests get their cards…which should be any day now. They are almost in the mail. I promise!

So, if party etiquette is as important to you as it is to me, Basic Invite has you covered. You can be sure your guests will feel appreciated after any event you have with all of their custom options. If you head to their site right now, they are offering 15% off everything! Just click HERE.

What do you think about party etiquette? Do you send thank-you cards?

I love receiving invitations that are pretty and well thought out. I haven’t thrown too many parties but when I do I’ll definitely look into this company to help design the invites. I love the examples you gave. Everything looks so pretty. Makes me want to throw a party so I can use them…maybe for Halloween. LOL

No matter how long it takes me I always try and send thank you notes by mail! I agree it might be old fashioned but it’s also polite! plus some of the people we have to thank aren’t part of the digital world and I think some people forget that!

I love it when people take the time to send a ‘thank you’ card after an event. It makes me feel like they really appreciated the time, thought and money I put into their gift. The TY cards you designed are really cute!

I am so guilty of not having ettiquette after birthdays. I always but the thank you cards and never send them. I’m so horrible. But thanks for the reminder that it is such a kind gesture.
