Suddenly it’s the end of October, and Fall is definitely here in Wisconsin. It’s actually been warmer than last year, so we’ve got to enjoy some time outdoors. I think my boys would stay outside most of the day if they could.
Last weekend, we had our Fall Party for my twins club. The kids got to get dressed up, we had a pot-luck picnic lunch, went on a train ride, played some games, and even got a pumpkin. Plus, there was a costume parade with Trick or Treating. AND it was all done in time for naps. Sorta. Two out of three fell asleep in the car on the way home, but a good time was had by all.
The party took place at Eberts Greenhouse Village. It’s located in Ixonia, but well worth the drive. Although this was the last weekend of their Fall Festival, according to their website, Santa will be visiting early in December. It’s a beautiful place, and they are a great place to have a fun, family party. We had a whole heated greenhouse to ourselves for our lunch!
This weekend, Mommy and Daddy took turns going out. Dad had a work outing on Friday night, so after the twins went to bed, me and my oldest made green spaghetti (ah, the wonders of food coloring,) played a few rounds of hide-n-seek, then had a popcorn/candy corn feast while watching a movie. Saturday night, I got to go out for my high school reunion. I’m not going to tell you the year, but lets just say I can’t believe I graduated high school sooooo many years ago. It was pretty fun to see everyone.
(a little high school flashback)
The highlight of the weekend for the kids was the giant leave pile my husband raked in the front yard, followed in a very close second by trick-or-treating.
I think trick-or-treating might have won out had everyone taken a nap beforehand. Since they did not, only one bird made it for longer than 15 minutes around the neighborhood. The other 2 did enjoy handing out candy from the security of Grandpa’s lap, and of course, all three couldn’t get enough candy. The twins don’t even let wrappers stop them from trying to sneak more. I pulled pieces from both of their mouths. Sneaky parrots.
Overall, I think everyone had a fun weekend, and everyone is wiped out. 2 birds are snoring, 1 more is on his way, Daddy soon to be snoring on the couch, and I’m headed to bed right now…
