Spring Cleaning after Easter

Spring Cleaning after Easter

Spring cleaning time is here! Well, Spring is here at least. We’ve had some sunshine, and weather that has allowed us to leave the house without 3 layers. I think that’s cause for celebration. Plus, I have a re-cap of our Easter festivities.

If you read yesterday’s post, you’ll also remember that my Auction starts TODAY. So after you’re done reading head HERE pretty please!

The Start

As you may remember from Friday’s Post, Mr. B took full advantage of his first day of Spring Break. All three boys stayed in their pajamas until about 10 am, then I bribed them into getting dressed with a trip to Target. They love that store almost as much as I do. Mostly because they think they are getting some sort of toy or candy each time we go, which is not the case.

On this trip, I told them we wouldn’t be getting either because the Easter Bunny was coming with toys and candy on Sunday. However, I did let them pick out some Easter cookies, and we could take a trip to Daddy’s office to eat them. I also got a dozen eggs to color later that night. Oh! My biggest score was 3 straw hats from the Dollar Spot! You won’t be able to miss them in the pictures. They wouldn’t take them off. I think they are sleeping in them right now.

They terrorized everyone in the office for a good 15 minutes, then Little P managed to spill an entire cup of coffee on himself. Luckily, it was cold. So, back home we went.

I boiled the eggs, let them cool, and when Dad got home, it was coloring time. I’ll just let this picture speak to how it went.

Luckily, I put mats down on the kitchen floor.

Saturday

On Saturday, we headed to my parent’s house for lunch and an Easter egg hunt. The boys got to play with their cousins, run around like crazy searching for eggs hidden in plain sight, and eat way too much chocolate. I’m glad there was wine. Here are a few pictures.

Never all together. Never all looking.

They were obsessed with their hats from the Dollar Spot. Plus, Star Wars ties!

Big C’s Face says it all.

When we got home, we stopped them from eating more candy by having an impromptu dance/bubble party. Only the twins were in their diapers. The rest of us were fully clothed. Ok. Fully clothed in yoga pants and sweatshirts. Yeah, that was me.

Easter Sunday

Everyone was up super early, and ready to see if the Bunny came to our house. Actually, the twins were up super early, and then went to wake up Mr. B.

Then on to follow the cones to the baskets and eggs hidden in the living room. It was still dark outside, plus we’re in Wisconsin, so no outside hunt for us.

Easter
Almost everything in the baskets was clearance from last year!

By 7 am, the hunt was over, everything was pulled from the baskets, and fighting over toys and chocolate had commenced. Fighting with each other over toys. Fighting with Mom and Dad over not being allowed chocolate at 7 am.

We finally convinced them to eat some of the hard-boiled eggs, which they mostly liked. By mostly, I mean they ate the white and spit out the yolk.

The afternoon, it was on to another egg hunt at Daddy’s brother’s house. There were tons of games, running, and more chocolate. By the time the boys got home, they were delirious from sugar and lack of sleep. I’m happy to report they finally took a nap on Monday afternoon…for 3 hours!!!

Back to Spring Cleaning

So, as I briefly mentioned in the beginning of this post, we were ready for Spring Cleaning. Well, I’ve actually come up with some changes for our family. Not only will these changes clean up our house, but help us become more active, less wasteful, and I hope, a happier family. You can read all about the changes we’re making over on Lose the Cape today.

And please don’t forget to check out the Auction! Come back and tell me what item you are bidding on!

Haha, I totally only eat the hard boiled egg whites too. I hate the yolk. I am super ready for spring cleaning too. I’ve been trying to get rid of stuff but it’s so hard!

I am starting my spring cleaning, too. I have a list of areas I want done and it’s going to be daunting. I got rid of some books last week, I’ve got a donation pile started and some stuff bagged and ready to go already. The basement is going to be our challenge. It’s just… there’s so much stuff and 99% of it is junk my husband refuses to acknowledge he does not need. Oy.

Oh, my goodness. I can’t with these cute pictures–also so nice to see the hubby appear in your blog! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a photo of him (and you both look adorable together) πŸ™‚ Looks like you all had a nice Easter weekend! Also totally thought the same re: Easter and wine. THANK GOD FOR IT. I spent the day with Bryan’s nieces and they are totally adorable but they had SO MUCH CHOCOLATE and were at one point half naked rolling in the grass, lol.

I love Target. And the dollar section. I swear I’m like on sensory overload when I walk in there because everything is yelling at me to buy it lol

Thank you πŸ™‚ And YES to the way too much chocolate. My boys were in a crazy sugar induced mania for sure. I think that’s how the diapers dance party happened too πŸ™‚

I cannot say enough how cute your boys are, I mean cuteness overload! I always wonder how you manage to handle all the boys at home (do they always get the upper hand over the one lady at home, hehe). Spring cleaning gives me nightmares, though I just have to suck it up and get it over with. Looks like you guys had a super fun Easter weekend. I would bid on the acrylic painting πŸ™‚

The boys look like they had an absolute blast for Easter! I remember loving coloring eggs when I was little. Oh to be that age again. I love those hats!!! Too adorable! I I will be conducting some Spring cleaning very soon. I did clean my closet out last week and got rid of more clothes. So that’s a start.
