What’s new in the new year

December 27, 2015 By Shann 37 Comments

New Traditions

Did you have a nice Christmas? We had a bit of a new schedule this year.

Since I’ve been married, we’ve spent Christmas Eve at my parent’s, Christmas morning at home, and then Christmas afternoon/evening with my husband’s mom’s side of the family. This year, we still went to my parent’s, but then we also went to my husband’s dad’s side of the family on Christmas Eve too. Christmas morning was at our house, then after failed attempts at naps, we went to my husband’s parent’s house with just his siblings.

All in all, we had a very nice Christmas. Sure, there was some cranky kids (because they stayed up late, got up early, and refused naps,) and a cranky mom ( because I stayed up late wrapping, got up early with excited kids, and didn’t get a nap either,) but we got to spend two days with all the people we love. Here are few of my favorite pictures.

New Year

Can you believe it’s going to be a new year on Friday? I really can’t. All these weeks and months have been going by so fast. I hope 2016 slows down a little…or we get to slow down a little. Actually, I think I’ll make more of a conscious effort to slow down.

New this Week

While some things on the blog will be new, some will stay the same. I’m going to keep my Micro Preemie Mondays until I can’t find anyone that wants to share a story. Premature birth awareness is so important to me, and I will keep fighting for the smallest and sickest babies.

I will also keep sharing my healthy weight loss, eating, and exercise plan with you. I actually have an update this week.

I will also keep up my goals each month, which means there will be an update on December this week too.

New on the Blog

I’ve teamed up with a few other mom bloggers to bring you a new series. Readers can write in with mommy/parent questions, and we will give our best advice. Simply email momstribeadvice@gmail.com

mom tribe help

I will be discontinuing First Born Fridays for the moment to leave room for Fundraising posts. We have two big events coming up this Spring, and I want to educate and promote them as best I can.  As you know we are the Ambassador Family for the March for Babies, and we also will be helping with the third annual Walker and Willis Walk to Fight TTTS.

I also want to include some new topics, so if there is anything you want to learn about or read about, please feel free to comment or email me at shanneva@yahoo.com

Thank you again for all your support this year! Hope you had a wonderful holiday!

No naps sounds scary. I am fortunate in that my husband’s family always does their holiday event between Christmas and New Year’s, so we spend every Christmas with my whole family (there were 7 adults and 5 kids) and make an event out of it. I

I love how you document Christmas milestones in your pictures. I wish I did that with my kids, but its never too late to start that kind of tradition with the grandkids. 🙂

The Charlie Brown sweaters are amazing! I hear you on the lack of sleep and general grumpiness–my toddler was sick over Christmas, and my husband has a broken elbow, so no one was really at their best this year!
