Easter Treats
I’ve been so focused on the March for Babies and all of the fundraising leading up to it, that I was VERY behind in getting ready for Easter. Luckily, when I opened my container labeled “Easter” from last year, all my Easter treats was already there.
I actually didn’t even need to go shopping at all this Easter, with the exception of buying fresh candy. I had plastic eggs, baskets, toys and books all from the Easter clearance LAST year. I even have baskets for NEXT Easter all saved up. I mean when something is 70 – 90% off, you have to buy it, right?
I know that some people don’t have the extra storage space or even want to think about next Easter in the days following the holiday, but that’s when you can get the best things. It is really worth the time and money. Plus, it saves you from stressing out at 9 pm on the night of the bunny.
My favorite clearance spots are Target, and sometimes Toys ‘R Us. If you wait long enough to go shopping at Target, things go from 30% (candy) to 50% to 70% (around 3 to 4 days after) and finally 90%. Usually by 90%, there’s not much left, so you need to be careful how long you wait. If it’s something I really want, I buy it at 50%. Sometimes I get lucky, and the same item will be there at 70%, so I can return the first one. They don’t do price adjustments, but you can always return with a receipt or your Target Redcard. Toys ‘R Us usually doesn’t have anything left after 50% off, so I get it while it’s there.
Of course, everyone’s favorite thing was CANDY! This is how I know these three are my kids. I might have a little sweet tooth. In fact, I may have tested a peanut butter egg while stuffing the eggs last night. Just one. Maybe two. No more than three.
Silly mommy let the kids have a chocolate before breakfast, so no one really enjoyed the egg casserole daddy made…except mommy and daddy. Then, big guy was missing for a little bit, and where did we find him? Hiding behind the couch eating the peanut butter eggs foil wrapper and all. I think I’ll let daddy change that diaper.
So, even after all my procrastinating in getting ready for Easter, it really wasn’t too bad. I stuffed the eggs, put all the stuff in the baskets, then let daddy do the hiding. Meanwhile, I decided to try my new Jamberry nails. As I mentioned in a previous POST, my friend Alexa is hosting a fundraiser for our March of Dimes Team. 30% of all sales go to the team, so I really needed to try these out.
Honestly, I wasn’t too sure I would like them. I don’t often do anything to my nails because I was my hands a million times a day. Polishing them just takes too much effort, and they chip so easily.
I got my free samples, a scissors, a nail file, and my hairdryer and camped out in the bathroom. I figured I would be in there for a while, so I closed the door to not wake the babies with my screams and swearing when I couldn’t get them on right.
Much to my surprise, they were super EASY to apply!!!!! I actually got them to look fabulous on the first application. All you need to do is wipe your nail with alcohol (I got a free sample wipe too,) cut the wrap (it looks like a sticker for your nail,) take it off the backing, run the dryer on it for a few seconds, press it on your finger, smooth it, file it, and Ta-Da!
Jamberry are nail wraps, not polish, so no toxins or other harmful stuff, which I LOVE. I’m definitely a believer in the power of the Jams 😉 Easter treats for mommy!
Now, I’m off to find something to match my nails.
Hope you have a Happy Easter and/or just a Happy Sunday!
