No, these are not the names of our cousins, our pets, or even our imaginary friends. These are the names of two trouble makers. The cause of so many fights between the twins that I can’t even count anymore.
Gordon and Molly are two trains from Thomas the Train. The Gordon we have is a wooden train. He used to “talk,” but his batteries went dead quite a long time ago. Molly is a yellow engine, and she is a metal one. What makes these trains so special? Why do each of the twins insist on having one or both of them? Why are they now “on vacation” because no one wants to share them?
Honestly, I have no idea. We have a million Thomas the Trains at our house. There are metal ones, wooden ones, talking ones, and even generic Target ones. BUT these two are the most coveted.
I’ve toyed (no pun intended) with the idea of purchasing another one of each, but remember (in this POST) what happened when I bought two more Diesel 10’s? Yep. You got it. No one wanted him anymore. So, I know if I bought them, a new engine would take their place. And it would be one that there was ONLY one of.
So, they will stay on “vacation” in the kitchen drawer until we learn how to share. Maybe that will happen when they are 10?
I know all siblings fight and have problems sharing at one point or another, but these two are really at that “Power struggle” stage. I’m really hoping it passes soon, and we move into a more fun, less scream at the top of our lungs while punching our brother stage.
So, what toys do your kids fight over? What do you do to encourage sharing?
If you’d like to see for yourself what the fuss is all about Molly and/or Gordon, just click on their pictures above (the pics of Gordon and Molly, not my twins wrestling.) It will take you to Amazon.com thru my affiliate link, where you can buy them for your own children or mine.
I dare you.
