Hello November!
November goals? What happened?
When I was planning out this week’s posts, I completely forgot to include my November goals! It may be because I’m in denial that it’s already November, or it could just be mommy brain again. Probably a combination of both.
Goodbye October!
So, let’s see how October went first.
- Continue going to the Gym at least 3 times per week Β Yes! I’ve been going to Ballet Mondays, Zumba Tuesdays, Barre Wednesday, then either Zumba on Thursday or Sunday too.
- Have at least 1 Date night Yes! Not only did we go out for our 7th wedding anniversary, but we also went to a March of Dimes Fundraiser called the Signature Chefs Auction. We got lots of food and drinks, plus helped raise money for a great cause.
- Start working on my 30 Before the end of my 30’s list Yes! #9 and #29 are done!
- Complete the #Octoberscopers challenge No! My phone still does not like the Periscope app for some reason.
- Do 2 guest posts and have some great guest posts on the blog Halfway Complete. I interviewed Serene Mom, and also guest posted on her blog.
- Get my Blog page views up to July’s stats No. I did go up from September, but still not as high as July.
- Throw a fantastic 6th Birthday Party Yes! See Here, Here, Here, and Here
- Have a Happy Halloween Yes! See HERE
Now for November
November is Premature Birth Awareness Month, which is a cause very close to my heart. I’m going to be focusing a lot of my blog and goals towards spreading awareness, and I hope you’ll join me.
-
Share a fact or some type of information about Premature Birth every day
-
Volunteer to do some events with the March of Dimes to spread awareness
-
Have more F-U-N with my kids
-
Do some Thanksgiving Crafts
-
Try to make something from Pinterest
-
Complete some type of Fitness Challenge
So, there you have it. My November goals. I really hope to complete them all, and I need your help more than ever. November 17th is World Prematurity Awareness Day, so I’ll be asking you all to please wear Purple and send me pictures any time before that date. They can be old pictures, pictures of your kids, pictures of your parents, any pictures of people in purple! I’d love to make a collage and post it on the blog, so please post your pictures on my FB Page or send me a message with them to shanneva@yahoo.com.
Have you thought of any goals for November? Tell me about them!

Good luck with your November goals!

I’ve been thinking about starting a 30 day fitness challenge…I need to stop thinking and start doing. I need a fitness partner or something.
Shann says
I will partner with you! Let’s keep each other accountable!
Jenine says
me too! π
Olivia Christine Perez says
I don’t really make monthly goals like this (outside of my editorial calendar) but this was really inspiring! I think in November I would like to dedicate more time to rest and yoga (which got lost in the mess of October) and stick to the three blog challenges I signed myself up for. Maybe even sign up for a fitness challenge!
Shann says
Thank you!
ianswertomom says
This is GREAT!
I may do something like this on my blog! Thanks for sharing!! π
Shann says
Awesome! Thank you!
Kristina says
I’ve always loved goal posts! They always give me something to strive for. This month I def want to finish Christmas shopping and do lots of fun stuff with my son.
Inspiration Indulgence says
Good for you for getting to the gym! Sounds like you had a really great month. My goal is to work out 4 times a week instead of 3 times a week like I did last month…it’s so hard on those busy days though!
Shann says
It really is. When I don’t get it done in the morning, I struggle to do it at night because I’m just so tired.
Cindy Calzone (Hometown Queen Bee) says
How is Zumba going? I’ve always wanted to try it but I have a pretty severe back problem, so not sure it would be good for me. Congrats on 7 years without killing your spouse! That’s always amazing! Lol π
Shann says
Hahahah…it is pretty amazing. As for Zumba, I have a bad lower back and it sometimes hurts during the class because there are lots of hip/lower back movements. You’d have to be pretty careful.
My Urban Family says
Congrats on your wedding anniversary and best of luck to you for your November goals π I like the F-U-N one π
Shann says
π Thank you! I owe you an email too…it will be on it’s way today.
Yamini says
Good luck with your goals. I am also thinking to write a post about Premature Birth to spread some awareness.
Shann says
That would be awesome! The more awareness the better!
lottielamour says
I absolutely love that you are doing monthly goals! Reminds me of New Years Resolutions – why should we just do them at the beginning of the year?! I might do this myself – excellent idea!

How do you like the Barre classes? I really want to sign up for some but the price is well…not cheap. I wish my gym offered some of those classes. I have been trying to work out at least 3 times a week. I’m doing good so far this week. I would love to have a guest post/do a guest post on my blog or another blog. I think it’s a great way to get to know other bloggers and network with them. I can’t wait to see more of your posts on facts about premature birth. Good luck on your goals this month! I can’t wait to see you accomplish them!
Shann says
I think it depends on the instructor for the Barre class. There is one woman I absolutely love because she has a dance background and is so energetic. If you ever want to write a post on here, just let me know. I’d love to have you!
Caroline @ In Due Time says

Found out today that the venue for the wedding reception double booked. . . . double booked as in the banquet manager is throwing himself his own birthday party that same day basically the same time period! I’m ready to be on my honeymoon π
Shann says
What?!?! Oh no! Well, I hope there’s someone higher up that’s in charge so you get your reception. Ugh. So sorry for the stress. I’m sending you calming thoughts!

I think your goals are great Shann. I am very impressed with your gym schedule, you should be called Super Mum. And the value of date night when couples have kids is so valuable for now and further into the future. I have guest posting goals as well. Shann you really do fit so much into your week – hope the kids party was great. I support your cause – thanks for this post – you have just motivated me to get stuck into some exercise.
Rachel.
Shann says
Awe. Thank you, Rachel. I really appreciate your comments. I really don’t feel like Super Mom at all, but thank you.

Good for you for sticking to your goals! And I agree that it just doesn’t feel like November. We hit 74 in Pittsburgh here yesterday!! Wow it was hot!!!
Shann says
74?!?! That’s crazy…but really nice.
Jaime says
Good luck with all your goals this month! A blog is great to be able to focus on your platform. After my daughter’s Traumatic Brain Injury, I used it a lot to promote Child Abuse Awareness, Shaken Baby Syndrome Awareness, Traumatic Brain Injury Awareness and The Spread the Word to End the R Word campaign. It is very therapeutic and empowering. My daughter doesn’t like me bringing up what happened to her anymore, so I respect it and no longer use it as my platform.
Shann says
That is wonderful Jaime. It truly is therapeutic for me too.
AlmostSexyMommy says
Good luck with all of your goals this month! You did great in October π
