Spring Break
Our first Spring Break officially starts on Friday. Woo hoo? To be clear, it’s not really a break for us moms. For me, it means an extra little one at home. While I love having Mr. B home, for some reason, when the three boys are all home, it seems like the fighting gets worse. It’s not really two against one, it’s just an extra one that doesn’t like to share, that likes to disagree with what TV show to watch, and that is picky about eating. The “one” switches between the three of them constantly.
I honestly didn’t even realize it was Spring Break until Mr. B’s art teacher asked if I was excited about it last Friday during art class.
“Oh yeah. When is it again?”
Needless to say, we don’t have any plans. We’ll be have a Spring Break “Staycation.” It’s actually for the best, since we just came back from a road trip, and everyone is recovering from different sicknesses. ย The twins are finishing up their antibiotics from ear infections, and Mr. B had some weird virus. Well, it wasn’t really weird, but it just wasn’t Strep or the Flu or anything that could be treated.
Lack of Planning
Since I didn’t really prepare for this “break” from Kindergarten (do kids really need a break from playing and napping with their friends?) I decided that I better come up with some sort of plan. I certainly don’t want us all to stay in our pajamas all week and watch TV. Although, I’m sure we’ll have one of those days. Maybe two.
So, I’ve come up with a list of ideas for us to choose from. We won’t be doing them all, but at least we’ll have some options. Head on over to Not Now Mom’s Busy to read all about what I’ve come with by clicking HERE.
What ideas have you come up with for staying home during Spring Break?
I don’t have children, but can definitely attest to off days/spring breaks sneaking up on me. I’ll be spending my “break” sleeping as much as I can. I love your camping in the living room idea!
I personally ADORE having stay-cations… I tell all my friends I am GONE so I can just do my own thing! ha ha!
Ha! Good idea!
Our spring break was last week and it was one loooooooooong week! H’s teacher asked me the same thing – are you excited? – and I was just like, not really… It’s only a break for teachers, not for moms!
Exactly!
love the dinosaur costumes ๐ great post! love the blog.
Thank you!
I can imagine how spring break doesn’t actually feel like much of a “break” for you! I know we get very busy where I work during the break because a lot of the kids that aren’t in school come to the library instead.
I bet! No Spring Break for you either!
I can’t wait to read the post! Congrats on the guest posting
Thank you!
It sounds like you came up with some pretty good ideas on short notice! They all sound so fun. The mall day will be great. And I absolutely love their dinosaur hoodies!!!
๐ Thank you!
Spring break is definitely just for teachers and kids – NOT moms! LOL!
Exactly! ๐
We have done staycations. Last year I had my husband take a day off in the middle of the week and we drove to a town about an hour away and did some fun things. That really broke up the week for us. Have fun!
Sounds fun. Thank you!
I hope you end up having a great break! Our Spring Break is only 5 days long, and we have something planned each day. Nothing exciting, just things we have to do!
It’s good to keep the kids busy for sure. Hope you guys have some fun!
i LOVE spring break! no kids yet, but we love hiking and road trips! =)
I love Staycations! We don’t have enough of them. I hope you all have a lovely week.
Yay for Spring Break! Enjoy your staycation. Those are the best!
Thank you! Hope you have a great Easter too.
Okay, I friggin love the dino costumes–so cute! And I’m with you–not sure I’d really be much of a planner either. That said, this might be a great time to introduce the kiddos to some of the local happenings in your town–maybe a library has a read for children or a good movie/ice cream day…or just pajamas in bed all day sounds wonderful too ๐
Thank you ๐ And local ideas are fabulous!
