Goal Update in May, Mid-month Check

May 16, 2017 By Shann 12 Comments

Goal Update

As I mentioned at the beginning of May, posting my goals on the blog really helps keep me accountable. Checking in on those goals mid-month and posting a goal update is also a key part of the process.

Looking back at what I want to accomplish for the month helps me to assess where I’m at and refocus, if necessary. Life usually doesn’t go as planned. So, sometimes I’ve completely missed out on what I was hoping to do. Luckily, if I notice those areas mid-month, I still have plenty of time to work on them.

How a Mid-month check can help you reach your goals. Goal Update. Written Goals. Successful Goal Writing.

No matter if you write a blog or write in a journal, taking a look back at your goals during the half-way point can be really beneficial.

May 2017

Personal Goals

  • Drink that water! Ugh. Why do I always forget this one. Anyone have any suggestions to help?
  • Meditate for 5 minutes before bed. Stretch for a few minutes when getting up.  I’ve actually been stretching before bed and when I wake up. Need to get that meditation in.
  • Get better quality sleep by going to bed earlier, not having media/TV on right before bed, and de-stressing Nope. Darn you Vampire Diaries.
  • Stay consistent at the gym Still making it 3 or 4 times a week!
  • Dance my heart out Yes!

  • Celebrate Mother’s Day with the boys and our Mothers Yes! Had a really nice brunch with both sets of Grandparents.
  • Get a date night to celebrate my husband’s birthday finally Not yet.
  • Finish out Soccer and the School Year Strong!!!  Big C is making great progress at soccer, and our last practice is this Thursday. Woo hoo!

Birthdays and Mother’s Day celebrations galore!

Blog Goals

  • Stay consistent with posting at least 2 times a week   Yes!
  • Finish working on security Almost!
  • Complete at least 1 sponsored post Nope.

The Rest of the Month

I’m so happy that I took a look back to re-focus. We’ve been really busy lately, and it will continue throughout the end of the month. I really need that extra sleep and energy, so water, meditation, and de-stressing are a must.

How are you doing with your goals this month? Or with life in general?

Mid month check ins are so helpful! To be honest, I have to check in with myself each night because I lose motivation quickly! Great job on your goals 🙂

The water struggle is always real. I used to keep a bottle with me allllll the time and set little goals, like “i have to drink this by lunch time”…but I’ve been slacking lately! I haven’t been setting any regular goals lately, but I should!

It is definitely good to check in mid-way through a month if you have a number of goals to reach. Sounds like you’re making great progress too! I love the dance pictures, you look beautiful in your costume!

I found that setting an alarm on my phone, reminding me to drink an 8- or 16-ounce glass of water every hour (or two) was the best way for me to increase my water intake. When my alarm went off, I forced myself to stop what I was doing and go drink that water!

Hi Shann, your pictures are lovely! I admire your dance ability 🙂 The boys are soooo very handsome. This half way check in is a good idea. I’d like to start this kind of goal setting.

It looks like you’re doing really well. I need to drink more water too – I REMEMBER most of the time, but I just don’t drink a lot so it can be tough. haha I guess my suggestion would be to get a water bottle that keeps your water cold – if you’re like me and only like cold water – and try and get in the habit of bringing it EVERYWHERE.

Sounds like you’re making awesome progress with you goals! One the water front, I have a planned that has a “water intake” section down the bottom right corner. It has 8 little cups drawn, so you can just put a little cross on each one for every glass of water you drink through the day!
