July went by REALLY fast. So fast, that I was working on my goals until the very last second. Seriously.
So, how did I do?
Here’s a quick rundown of what I wanted to Accomplish:
- Increase my Blog Following
- Start to make Money with my Blog
- Keep Family Time a Priority
- Have a Date Night with Hubby
- Have a Date Night with Oldest and Hubby
- Stop Yelling so much
- Keep eating Healthy
- Exercise 5 times a week
- Organize room and get rid of Clutter
- Stop “Impulse” Buys
- I increased my page views from 6430 last month to 10, 091 (HOORAY! THANK YOU!)
- Stayed at #8 or #9 in Top Mommy Blogs
- Finished #30DayWriter Challenge (and still writing every day!)
- I have 1 Sponsored post and 2 product Reviews set up for August
- We went to Swim Lessons every day for 2 weeks, lots of reading time, drawing time, and building time. Also, took kids to a Church Festival and Train ride.
- Family dinners, a BBQ, and a Family Party
- Stayed consistent with eating healthy and have lost 25 lbs total
- Exercised 3 to 4 times a week
- Cleaned out my closet, Hubby re-organized Kitchen, Rummage sale set for August 22nd
There are still a couple of areas I still need to improve upon.
- We did not get a date night with just me and my husband
- I still feel like a mean Mommy and have been yelling too much
- Did not stick to an early bedtime, so the crabby/tiredness had a lot to do with the yelling
- Went to the Outlet Mall. Enough said. (Although…In all fairness, I did use my “Gymbucks,” so I didn’t spend as much as I normally would…but it still wasn’t all necessary)
What’s up for August?
- DATE NIGHT is a priority
- Submit my writing to other sources
- Try Vlogging (video blogging…not sure if I’m technically up to this challenge, but we’ll try it out.)
- Schedule more Blog posts to better utilize my time.
- Keep eating healthy and exercise at least 4 times a week
- STOP yelling as much by BREATHING and Taking Mommy Time-outs as necessary. Plus get more SLEEP.
- Don’t go CRAZY with Back to School Shopping.
As you can see, I’ve simplified my August goals to make them more manageable. I’m still going to keep myself accountable with a Mid-Month Check-up, so I hope you’ll join me.
How did you do last month? What are your goals for the month?

Hey girl! Visiting you from Blog Love! I’m so excited for you that you’re over 10,000 page views!! Congratulations! Can’t wait until I’m there, but I know it’ll take a lot of hard work over the next few months. 😉 Keep up the good work!
Seriously have a date night. You’ll be so happy you did.

Those are a lot of great goals! If you try Vlogging, let me know how you like it! I wanted to give it a try too, but I’m not sure!
I will. I’m pretty nervous, and not sure if I even technically know how to do it, but I’m gonna try 🙂

Any tips on how you increased your traffic!? Great goals, by the way. I think the lack of sleep/going to bed too late is probably directly related to my crabbiness too!
I’ve been really promoting all over the place, and I hope have written some good content. I also wrote a new blog post everyday, which I think helps too.
Homemade Experience says
Good on you! A blog post every day would be so difficult. I hope to shoot for that at some point :).
Penny Struebig says
I would say you did fantastic with your July goals. Way to go!! Good luck with August.
Thank you so much!

Matt and I won’t get a date night for awhile since literally nobody wants to watch a super cute and easy baby (go figure), but I am hoping to get two family days in August. Which… feels like it’s going to be tough. But I have tickets to the Minnesota Children’s Museum I got on Groupon so we HAVE to use those, and then I really hope I can surprise Matt with an Apostle Island cruise (it’s a day long thing) for his birthday. Here’s hoping we don’t have an obscene amount of bills. *crossing fingers*
Wish we lived closer and we could swap for date nights. I hope you get your Museum and cruise in…sounds like fun 🙂

Girl, I think we are the same person…what?! My blog is not yet on your level… but I have similar goals for mine. But mostly all of your personal and finance goals SPOT ON! Impulse buys….are the death of me. haha. Great list of goals and accomplishments! Maybe I should write mine down too, does that seem to help?
I really think it did help. I felt like it kept me more accountable. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
You did an awesome job on your goals! Congratulations. We have been doing swim lessons too. It is really fun and so important to keep them safe in the water.

Date nights are important! For both marriage and yourself. Kyle and I don’t get to go out as much as we did before we had Sophie but we aim for once a month at least.

Those are great goals! Good to have attainable goals! I need some.
I want to start vlogging too Shann! I just need to buy a better camera first. I don’t want to vlog on my iphone….
I’m going to try with my tablet, so we’ll see if that works .:)
That is quite a list to accomplish. It sounds like you did good!! Date night is hard to make time for but is important to do. We seem to only get a date in once every 3 months. I am making it a goal to do that more often too. Congrats on the page views!! Keep up the great work!!
