Work
I’ve decided that Work is my “word of the year.” If you’re not familiar (I wasn’t either until I started reading a ton of blog posts on the subject!) it’s the process of picking one word as a focus for your year. It helps you reach your goals and achieve new things.
I didn’t pick anything right away because I couldn’t figure out just one word to describe what I wanted to accomplish this year. Today, it just hit me. Maybe because it’s because I started training for my NEW JOB!!!
I’m so excited that I’m going to be teaching ballet and dance classes to little ones. It’s a very part-time position, but I hope as the twins get older and go to school, I’ll be able to do it more often. I’m going to be teaching at a really wonderful school, and I’m super excited to get to work.
In addition to an actual job, I’ve got a lot of other “work” I’m going to be doing this year. Such as:
Working on my Fitness
Already this month, I’ve been to the gym at least 4 times a week. I feel like I’m getting stronger and getting in better shape. I want to keep improving and challenging myself.
Working on my Mommying
As you know, I’ve been trying to work on my parenting skills. This year I want to focus on staying calm, and really preparing my boys for their next step. I’m not sure if it will be preschool yet, but we will be moving forward in some direction this fall. I’m also hoping to tackle potty training this spring/summer.
Working on my Fundraising
Not only are we the March of Dimes Ambassador Family this year, but I’m also helping my good friend Brooke raise money for the Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome Foundation. Both of these organizations work towards saving children and making their lives healthier, which is a cause everyone should get behind.

Working on my writing
I’m contributing to 2 other blogs this year, and I want to do my best writing. I also want to keep growing and improving this blog.
While initially I wasn’t going to come up with a “word” this year, the word “work” just kept coming up in my life. As you may have read in Progress and Moving Forward, I think of myself as a work in progress. I also think of myself as a hard worker, and I’m going to try my best to do that this year. I’m feeling motivated and inspired, so I want to take advantage, and in the words of Tim Gunn, “Make it work.”
So, what do you think of my word? Do you have a word of the year?

That is so exciting that you get to start teaching! When I moved to freelancing I started to teach art classes on the side and while the pay honestly was awful, the experience was so worth it!
