I was all ready to write a great post for the new year, when BAM! Stomach Flu hit. And it hit hard.
Today is actually one of the first days I feel somewhat normal. That icky feeling is still in my tummy a little, but I’m able to actually move around without it being the first thing on my mind.
Let me back up a little to last Monday…
I was doing great. Started off a productive week, worked out, was sticking to my new goals. Tuesday, I was a little sore, but I figured it was from working out. Wednesday, I started feeling queasy in the car. I got to my son’s preschool to pick him up, went inside, and felt trouble coming. I hurried him out of the building, and sat him in his car seat before I got sick in the parking lot.
Ugh. At least I made it outside. My son just kept saying, “Mom, I didn’t know you threw up too! Mom, you’re still throwing up!” He was delighted because he had the stomach flu a week before and thought he was the only one who was ever subjected to such horrors.
Anyways, I got home got everyone down for a nap so I could lay down too. I rested for a little bit before getting sick again. Luckily, my husband came home early from work because after that, I was down for the count.
Each day since then has been better, but it has been really brutal. It’s hard to take care of other little people when you just want to hide away in your bed in your PJ’s. It’s so unfair that mom’s don’t get sick days.
